There is something oddly satisfying about this.

There is a real art to creating and flying the perfect paper plane. Gone are the days when paper plane flying was traditionally done in the back of classrooms when the teacher wasn’t looking. Now, if you can make a paper plane do something truly amazing, you’ll go viral on the internet.

That’s exactly what happened to the owner of the YouTube channel, CRBpaperplanes. When they landed a beautifully designed paper plane on top of a moving train, people online couldn’t get enough of it. As of this writing, the video has been viewed just under 18 million times. That’s a large reach for a paper plane!

It was a snowy and cold day.

These were not ideal flying conditions for any type of plane. When the person behind the camera let go of the plane, it did not take a direct route to land on top of the train. Rather it circled around, almost as if it was searching for the best place to land.

Finally, after ducking around a light post, it settled in on top of the train and the camera operator let out a satisfied little laugh.

The idea had been to fly the plane inside the train’s doors.

As impressive as this feat was, it seems as though the actual intent had been to try and fly the paper airplane inside the doors of the train, as if it were a passenger. The plane came close to doing this but ultimately decided to hitch a ride on top of the train instead.

“I tested my paper glider airplane in snowfall, and it nearly flew into the tram, before it closed its doors, but in the last moment it decided to travel on the roof instead. :)” Reads a description of the video.

The channel also features videos on how anyone can produce their own paper plane glider and the neat tricks you can do with them. Tossing pieces of paper out of your window might seem like littering, and probably is, but it can be really entertaining to see them glide majestically through the air.

The Red Bulls Paper Wings Competition.

Paper airplane building is no longer just a hobby, you can compete in it as well. Since 2006, Red Bull has been running the Red Bull Paper Wings competition. In 2019, 58 different countries were represented at the event. 176 pilots competed to earn one of 3 championships.

The internet can’t get enough of this perfect paper airplane landing.

There is something oddly satisfying about watching a paper plane glide through the air and land somewhere. That’s likely why the video has been viewed and shared so many times. Many viewers have felt compelled to leave a comment on the video as well.

“All is perfect in this video: the view, snowfall, the paper plane, landing and a little laugh in the end :)” Wrote one viewer.

This man: achieves an incredible stunt
Also him: casually laughs as if it’s an everyday thing,” wrote another.
