Many of our pets absolutely love being held. It makes them feel, cozy, comfortable, and safe. But it turns out, it’s not just domestic pets that love being held.

Some wild animals enjoy it too! And this deer is the perfect example of this.

A group of linemen who were working on some electrical lines found the deer and saved him from getting hurt when they were clearing some lines.

“My buddy and I were clearing a right of way for the electric lines and came across this fawn trapped in the fall path of the tree we were about to trim,” wrote YouTube user Justin Lewis in the caption of a video he posted with the deer. “He was tangled in some thorns and was pretty shaken up after we cut him loose.”

The poor little deer was scared and nervous and so they decided to try and comfort it.

“So we started rubbing his belly to calm him down…. which worked a little too well, as you can see,” Lewis explained.

Instead of running off the baby deer stuck like glue to the linemen and protested every time the linemen tried to put him down.

“Found this baby deer and we’re moving it out of the way so it doesn’t get smashed by a tree and we started rubbing its belly and now when we go put it down it freaks out until we start rubbings its belly again,” someone off camera says in the video.

A lineman in the video then demonstrates holding the baby deer in his arms and letting the deer cry out hysterically when he tries to put him down.

“He’s spoiled we have spoiled a baby deer,” says someone in the video.

The look on this baby deer’s face is just so adorable. He looks so happy, content, and cozy. Thankfully, the deer’s mom wasn’t too far behind and they were later reunited.

“He followed us around the job site like a lost puppy for about an hour until I noticed a doe watching us from the hillside,” Lewis write in the caption. “Assuming this was his mother, I carried him about halfway up the hill while she watched attentively. I sat him down, he ran straight to her, and they walked off together.”

The video went massively viral, receiving over 17 million views and thousands of comments.

While many of the comments are funny, our favorite has to be:

“I like to think that the construction worker man is still holding the deer to this day.”

It’s hilarious to watch the deer with the linemen — it’s amazing to see the trust this baby animal has with a complete stranger. It’s easy to see why this adorable video went viral.
