Not only is this adorable, he couldn't have done a better job.

Kids are typically adorable no matter what they do. But sometimes they can leave us downright impressed – just like one little boy named David DeFigueiredo, who knows a thing or two about the Christmas story.

The boy was four-and-a-half years old when his mom’s friend asked him to narrate their nativity.

Mom asked him to read the verses twice in the morning and twice in the evening. After all, kids his age need repetition before they understand and memorize.

He’s not named David for nothing!

The little boy in his red sweater stands proudly in front of their Christmas tree and with hands in his pockets, proceeds to recite the gospel of Luke chapter two verses six to sixteen.

“Luke 2, 6 through 16… And so it was that while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her first born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Get ready to be blown away.

Little David continues,

“And there were, in the same country, shepherds abiding in the fields keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord come upon them and the glory of the Lord shone around about them.”

It is just that much more special when a kid narrates this story.

And what’s impressive is David doesn’t need a guide. He just keeps going!

“And they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not! For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you…”

Now, how many adults do you know have this story memorized? Excluding priests and pastors, of course.

“You shall find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger…”

It’s quite amazing how down pat David has the story, and not surprising that the video has over 6.8M views on Facebook.

For a little boy his age, David narrates the story with passion behind his words.

It clearly shows that he is loving the moment and that he really understands the meaning of his story. Good job, buddy!

One person commented:

“This is the most adorable nativity I’ve ever heard!! It brought tears to my eyes!!”

From Mary and Joseph’s struggle, to Mary giving birth, all the way to the adoration of the shepherds, David looks like he just went back in time all those years ago in Bethlehem.

It’s as if he was there!

The best part is David’s testimony.

He testifies that he knows that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, that Jesus died for our sins on the cross, was resurrected, and that Jesus came for him and for us. This kid may have a higher calling.

“I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”

And we wouldn’t be surprised!

When a friend asked David to narrate their live nativity I asked him to read these verses twice in the morning and twice at night. A few weeks later I realized he no longer needed the paper. Starting and ending our day with this beautiful story has brought the spirit of Christmas into our home and reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas.

For those who have asked:
